I attended the Grand Opening of the new APPLE computer store in Oklahoma City on Saturday morning September 25. I got there at about 5:30 and there was already 50 people there. There are lots of stores in town that sell Apple computers. Some even sell apple exclusively. But a TRUE Apple store is a little different. Apple stores open with lots of FAN-fair. Literally.
Today this store (#1015A – Penn. Square Mall. 1901 NW Expressway st., Oklahoma City, OK 73118) was no different. People dove in from sounding states and lots of locals turned out. By the time the doors opened at 10:00am there was over 500 people in line for the free t-shirts give out to the first 1000 people through the door, and a Chance for Grand Opening
[

This was my first time as a real blogger. As soon as I got there I started taking pictures and as I expected the mall gard waked up and ask me to stop. I informed him proudly I’m a reporter I’ll be interviewing the person at the front of the line in a few seconds”. The gard smiled, said “Oh, OK”. I then ducked under the ropes and walked to the front of the line. I en traduced myself to the guys at the start of the line. Hi, My name is Mark, I’m a blogger and I’d like to interview you. I said proudly. “Sure” was the answer. So I started asking the questions. Who – What are your names? They where Adam Jewell, David Carr, Feff Lampechp, and Tanner Beers. Where – are you from? Adam: OKC. Why are you here so early? When did you get here? Adam: About four something. I ask a lot more questions but I can’t remember the answers. (Not to self.. Take voice recorder.)

Often the sales people have &q uot;Real Jobs” during the week using the product they’re sell at the Apple store. This makes them more Evangelists them sales people. They know the products and can give real tips to solve real problems. On the second day, I went back to the store and talked with ??. He works the week at the Oklahoma Wild life doing video editing with Final Cut.
I was number 59 thought the door. This is a big store with lots of demo stations. I didn’t spend a lot of time in the store on opening day. I returned the next day for two hours and it was still pretty busy. If this is an example of the stores traffic, it should do well. On the way out on the first morning I met a little girl about age tweleve who was very excited about her hew iPod Nano.
