My Ever Shrinking Desk

I’ve been thinking about the way things have changed over the years.� One of them is how my work space has changed.� When I started in the computer business I owned shop.� It was called Business MicroSystems.� I owned and shared the office space with my partner, Bob Johnson. I consider myself a systems administrator.� That’s a guy who makes sure the computers for the company keep running. A long time ago, (about when I started) this job was done by people in white cotes like doctors.

Son Powns iPhone

My son Nathan called this morning with news he was the first to find a way into the file system of the new iPhone release 1.1.1. So it is a proud day for an old hacker.� I wish I could say I taught him every thing he knows. :-) This is such big news it even made it to the top ten list of Digg. Totally Secure – Update

I received PayPal Security key in the mail today. I have been waiting for three weeks for it to arrive. Activation was easy.� Thank you PayPal.� I hope more companies follow your lead. I tried my PayPal Security Key on the MyPW website. The hope was I could activate it there as well.� It didn’t work.� I was not expecting it to. I’m still seeking the perfect login process.� I’m excited because I see hope.

I have no idea what the examiner will give me to install Linux. I only know I will be ask to install it. Because I need to install Linux several times to learn what I need I have chosen to installing Linux over the network.� This is also part of what you need to know for the test. This can be done with NFS, FTP or HTTPD.� I decided to do all three.
